Dr. Arthur T. Shack Chapter, Order of Pythagorans

Is Up and Running in Full Force

On January 26, 2008, The Most Worshipful Homer O. Justice 33º, Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge State of New Jersey, Brother Aaron T. Watson of King David Lodge No. 15, Brother Angelo Purnell of Omega Lodge No.64, Brother Donza Taylor of Omega Lodge No.64, and Brother James Clarey of Omega Lodge No.64, along with seventeen young men, in the names of, Stacey Bennett, Nikeem Jabar Walker, Shabir Monte Walker, Omar Vann, Anthony Vann, , Taylor Hopkins, Robert Schanck, Kevin Rainer, DeHaven Whitis, Vashon Dodd, Aaron Downing, Joshua Abrams, Mekhi Page, Jahmir Page, Barry Wallace, Devaughn Ward and Dion Maurice Allen, Jr., were initiated into the Dr. Arthur T. Shacks Chapter, Order of Pythagorans, by the Pythagorans of the Richard "Boots" Ashby Chapter of Acacia Lodge No.23.

After the administration of the Pythagoran Degree the newly initiated Pythagorans were joined by their parents in an Anger Management-Conflict Resolution Seminar which was given by Mr. Henry Mohammad who was sentenced to life in prison, but was paroled after serving 37 years of the life sentence.

Mr. Muhammad now goes around the state and country giving motivational speeches trying to save young men from going to prison. He also runs a program in the City of Trenton where he mentors to young men. He has been selected to receive the 2007 Image Award. He spoke on the topic

"No Matter Where You Come From You Can Be A Leader".

Distinguished guests that attended the seminar included, Councilwoman at Large Cordelia Staton, Vice-President of the City Council of Trenton and Councilman at Large Paul M. Pintella, President of the City Council of Trenton and Councilman at Large, Assembly Woman Bonnie Watson-Coleman, Assembly Majority Leader, of the State of New Jersey, Thomas R. Hughes 33º, Deputy Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge State of New Jersey, various Pythagoran Chapters throughout the State and Masons from several Lodges throughout the State. One hundred and fifty persons were in attendance for the ceremony. The ceremony was closed with remarks by the State Chairman Order of Pythagorans of the State of New Jersey, RW George Earley 33º and the Most Worshipful Homer O. Justice 33º, Grand Master. After which a fellowship dinner was held for all that was in attendance.


Since our first meeting nineteen young men have joined the Dr. Arthur T. Shacks Chapter, which has brought the membership up to thirty six young men. We have formed The Dr. Arthur T. Shack Drill Team which presently consists of twenty-three young men, a basketball team and other activities for the young men to participate in. At the present time we have fifteen advisors to the Chapter. We meet the second Saturday of the month at King David Lodge No. 15, at 10:00 am.
